The group left in the morning for Sendaria being escorted by soldiers of the king no less. On the second day of travel Garion began expressing his worries to Durnik. He reassures the boy that they haven't done anything wrong so they won't be thrown in the dungeon. Garion still objects that maybe Mister Wolf has done something wrong.
Silk intercedes and begins telling they boy of Sendarias history. Or at least his version of it. He tells Garion how the king is elected and what a foolish thing that was. Silk and the captain have a few disagreements to the story, but Brendig finally leaves in frustration.
They travel in a somber mood and arrive on the ninth day of travel. Uopn reaching the castle of Sendar they are greeted by Count Nilden. The count insists that they are to clean and change before being presented to the king. Brendig insists that they be taken to see the king right away. Both argue about how both are on the authority of his majesty.
They are finally led to where they can bath and change into more presentable court clothing. Everyone seems to not care for the attire chosen for them. Except for Aunt Pol in her new blue dress.
Once they are presented and the king begins to speak it is aparent that Wolf is less than happy. They exchange formallities with everyone present and express their urgency. The king says he has a feast in their honor first. They all feast and make small talk. Some reminecse and others hint at things to come.
They all gather in the kings apartments. The king, Wolf and Pol go into a private room to have a discussion. Silk excuses himself on a matter of business while Queen Layla is entertaining. Garion slowly makes his way to the door and listens without appearing he is listening.
Overhearing quite a few things, Garion is extremely shocked. Is Mister Wolf really Belgarath the sorcerer? Is Aunt Pol really Belgarath's daughter Polgara the Sorceress? And now they are going to cherek instead of pursuing this theif? Just to talk with more kings and queens that think they know what really going on. Finally, Who is this Rivan King they need to return and what happened to the last one?
