Pawn of Prophecy Chapter 10

The group travels fifteen leagues toward Cammar before they stop for the night at a hostel. Aunt Pol quickly shoos Garion off to bed after dinner. He doesn't go without his usual inquisitive nature surfacing. We find out his parents were named Geran and Ildera and they also were not sendars. Garion again reaches up to touch Pols white streak in her hair. He is quickly brushed aside and told he is not ready for that yet.

The next day they leave in a misty fog. At least it wasn't snowing that day. They quickly travel to Cammar over the next little while. Upon reaching the city, Aunt Pol expresses that there is no need to pose as merchants and she will take care of it this time. When she reaches the gate she poses as the Dutchess of Erat and becomes even more demanding.

They soon find lodging at the Lion inn and the owner's daughter is sent to be the Dutchesses maid. Pol assigns everyone a proper station title before the little girl arrives as her maid. Since little is discussed that night, They all retire while Aunt Pol requests a bath.

The next day the town is covered with snow. Garion spends time conversing with the new girl until Pol summons her for a dress fitting. Mister Wolf and Silk go out on the town to search for "it" again. Garion spends time with Barak and is troubled when he can't seem to get the answers he wants. It is aparent that Barak is afraid of Pol. Barak then decides to show Garion about some sword tactics out in the courtyard.

Later Silk and Mister Wolf came back from searching. After Pol is summoned, All take a moment to admire her new dress. Wolf states that "it" has been here and they begin to discuss plans and wiegh the options at hand. While discussing these things a group of soldiers is noticed coming to the inn.

Everyone in the group hides in the other room. Leaving Garion and Aunt Pol to maintain this rouse. The innkeeper knocks and introduces a Captain of the Sendarian army. The Captain says he is looking for an old man with white hair and was imformed she has such a person in her employmentand the king wishes to speak with him. Captain Brendig also speaks that he is at court all the time and has never seen her there.

Before things can escalate any further Mister Wolf comes out of the next room. He states that he is the one the king is looking for. It is decided they will go peacefully and see what the king has to say. It seems that Mister Wolf is ver irritated at the intrussion. The group will leave in the morning.
